2018 'THE DAM' MERLOT

There is nothing that we cannot do in the Hunter! This style of wine is only produced in certain vintages when the conditions allow. The wine is so named die to the blocks proximity to the dam on the northern side of the 'Hill'. Picture marinating a lamb shoulder in two glasses of this, while sipping on a glass yourself of course, and enjoying the plum jam aromas as it roasts. This offers a delicate tannin structure with a beautiful balance of oak and the traditional Hunter Valley earthiness. Enjoy all the time.

Tasting Notes
This wine is soft, yet rich in flavour with delicious cherry and plum jam fruit characters and just a hint of white pepper spice. The wine was matured in a mix of old and new French and American oak barrels for twelve months giving the wine a toasty and nutty finish. A dash of Cabernet Sauvignon enhances the character and structure.
